Sheffield Doc/Fest’s flagship pitching event the MeetMarket (pictured), and digital pitching initiative the Crossover Market, are now open to submissions for the 2015 festival.

The MeetMarket matches documentarians and interactive media makers with key commissioners and international decision makers. Last year’s edition – which received 550 entries from 53 countries – was attended by more than 300 commissioners and decision makers, and saw pitches for 64 international projects.

Meanwhile, the Crossover Market runs in tandem with the MeetMarket, but focuses on digital and interactive projects, as well as efforts that plan to use distribution methods such as crowd-funding or VoD. Participants are able to meet with cross-platform commissioners and digital producers, and selected projects are given the opportunity to meet with digital agencies, brands and third-sector representatives.

The 2015 editions of the marketplaces with be headed by marketplace executive producer Karolina Lidin and marketplace manager Anna Parker. Also working on the events will be former ITVS executive content advisor Claire Aguilar, who this month joined Doc/Fest as director of programming and industry engagement.

Both marketplaces will accept entries until March 18. Sheffield Doc/Fest runs from June 5 to 10.
