Bond/360 acquires plus-size doc

New York-based indie film distributor Bond/360 has acquired Giovanna Morales Vargas' A Perfect 14, a doc following three successful plus-size models.

New York-based indie film distributor Bond/360 has acquired Giovanna Morales Vargas’ A Perfect 14, a doc following three successful plus-size models.

Currently in production, the doc sees Elly Mayday, Kerosene Deluxe and Laura Wells battling against “weightism” in an industry and a society that values thin sizes.

A Perfect 14 also features experts in the field of body image, plus-size and standard models, designers, photographers, and magazine editors.

James Earl O’Brien is the producer, while Bond/360′s CEO Marc Schiller will serve as an executive producer.

“I’m always interested in huge changes in society that happen because of a shift in how we think about culture,” said Schiller. “The filmmakers have been ahead of the curve of this important story, which is perfectly suited for the documentary treatment. A Perfect 14 will impact not only the lives of women and girls in terms of how they look at role models, but will also impact all of our lives in relation to how we view beauty.”

In addition, the distribution company has also taken on a production role with Alex Winter’s Deep Web and Yael Melamede’s upcoming (Dis)Honesty – The Truth About Lies.
