BAFTAs honor “The Island”, “Life and Death Row”

BBC Three’s Life and Death Row and Channel 4′s The Island with Bear Grylls are among the programs honored by the BAFTA Television Awards on Sunday (May 10).

In what turned out to be a big night for Channel 4′s factual team, other factual programs receiving awards at the ceremony in London included the pubcaster’s Grayson Perry: Who Are You? and The Paedophile Hunter.

Best factual series: Life and Death Row (A BBC in-house production for BBC Three)

Best reality and constructed factual: The Island with Bear Grylls (produced by Shine TV and Bear Grylls Ventures for Channel 4)

Best single documentary: The Paedophile Hunter (produced by Amos Pictures for Channel 4)

Best specialist factual: Grayson Perry: Who Are You? (produced by Swan Films for Channel 4)

Best current affairs: ‘Dispatches’ Children on the Frontline (produced by ITN Productions for Channel 4)

Best entertainment program: Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (produced by ITV Studios for ITV)
