A behind-the-scenes look at the life and legacy of cultural icon Walt Disney (pictured) will debut in a two-part, four-hour doc across the PBS strand ‘American Experience’ this September.

The previously announced Walt Disney will take a look at the man behind one of the most beloved and recognizable cartoon characters in history by interweaving rare archival footage from the Disney vaults with scenes from some of the American storyteller’s greatest films. The film also promises interviews with biographers, historians, animators and artists who worked on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, as well as the designers responsible for fabricating the Disneyland theme park.

“Walt Disney is an entrepreneurial and cultural icon,” said Mark Samels, ‘American Experience’ executive producer, in a statement. “No single figure shaped American popular culture in the 20th century more than he.”

Directed and produced by Sarah Colt and exec produced by Samels, Walt Disney will premiere September 14 and 15 at 9 p.m. EST/PST on PBS. Watch the trailer below.
