UK pubcaster Channel 4 has ordered a one-hour Christmas special titled Gogglebox Kids from All3Media-owned producer Studio Lambert.

The 60-minute spin-off of the BAFTA-winning Gogglebox (pictured) will document British children, aged up to 13 years old, providing a running commentary on what they believe is happening in the world, from the cakes on BBC1′s The Great British Bake Off to the fate of Cecil the Lion.

Freya Sampson and Tom Peppiatt serve as executive producer and series producer, respectively, for the London- and LA-based prodco. Channel 4′s head of specialist factual David Glover commissioned the holiday special.

“We have seen that kids say the funniest things on TV, and this version of the Channel 4 hit will allow school children from different backgrounds to do this as they react to their screens big and small,” said Tim Harcourt, creative director at Studio Lambert, in a statement.

“We think that this Christmas special will show more than their views on visual content and TV today; it will reveal how they see the world around them,” the exec added.
