FremantleMedia has picked up the rights to Istanbul-based Global Agency’s singing format It’s Showtime (pictured), with Hungary’s RTL2 set to air the first international version of the show.

The deal sees the global producer-distributor taking the rights to the format in 20 countries, including the U.S., UK, Australia, Thailand, Spain, Denmark and Norway.

Through its new show and factual division, Hungarian prodco UFA Magyarország will produce the program for RTL2, marking the first version of the format outside Turkey.

Launched by the Turkish content company during DISCOP Istanbul in February, It’s Showtime looks for top singers across categories including voice, stage performance, song selection and styling. The format is intended as an access prime, daily stripped entertainment show.
