Viacom taps Pete Flamman for Northern Europe post

Effective this month, the former Turner Broadcasting exec will lead brand strategy, development and operational management for the media giant's channel brands in the region, including MTV, Spike and Comedy Central.

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) in Northern Europe has hired Pete Flamman to head up its brand group as senior VP of brands, a newly created role.

A former Turner Broadcasting exec, he will join the company this month and work out of the Amsterdam office.

Flamman will lead brand strategy, development and operational management for the media giant’s channel brands in the region, including MTV, Spike, VIVA, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and the Paramount Channel. His remit covers acquisitions and content operations, programming and creative and brand development.

He will report to Magnus Kastner, executive VP and MD of VIMN Northern Europe.

Prior to joining VIMN, Flamman spent 14 years at Turner, first as VP of business development before moving into general management roles. He was instrumental in developing the company’s portfolio in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

He most recently served as the senior VP and COO for the EMEA region and as the MD of Turner’s Kids brands.
