Former Pioneer Productions exec Jeremy Dear (pictured) is folding his London-based indie The Ideas Room into UK producer Wall to Wall.

Dear will join Wall to Wall’s senior management team as director of international factual, leading the company’s U.S. East Coast factual operations by providing the department with UK content. He previously served as head of television for the UK Travel Channel and senior VP at Tinopolis Group-owned Pioneer Productions.

The Ideas Room, which was founded in 2014, worked as an end-to-end producer of series as well as a development specialist focused on content ranging from popular science to lifestyle and factual entertainment. Its debut production was Inside the Court of Henry VIII for PBS earlier this year.

Existing Ideas Room projects will now be produced under the Wall to Wall brand, a division of Warner Bros. Television Production UK.

The Ideas Room had partnered with Wall to Wall earlier this year on the development of an entertainment format “which led naturally to this step,” said Dear in a statement, adding that Wall to Wall’s “creative and commercial muscle means they’re a great home for us.”

“We are absolutely delighted that Jeremy is joining us to lead our growth in the U.S. We already work closely with National Geographic, PBS and other U.S. channels and we now have the perfect team to build this side of our business even further,” added Wall to Wall’s CEO Leanne Klein.
