Comedian Chris Hardwick (pictured) will host and exec produce the prime-time game show The Wall for NBC.

Produced by NBA player LeBron James and his manager Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment and Glassman Media, the 10-episode series sees teams of two people competing for “life-changing amounts of cash” that will be won or lost depending on trivia questions or a bouncing ball.

The ball will move down a wall made up of pegs towards slots marked with different monetary values. If a team member answers a question correctly, the ball turns green and the team earns the cash value listed on the slot. If incorrect, the ball turns red and the team loses that amount of cash.

Meanwhile, teams of “deserving competitors” will be made up of close-knit family members or friends, such as a father and daughter pair, as well as a woman and her Marine partner, who helped his translator become an American citizen.

The Wall was developed by Glassman Media in conjunction with CORE Media. James, Hardwick, Carter and Andrew Glassman will serve as executive producers.

“I love game shows, and partnering with LeBron James and NBC to potentially give away millions of dollars to people who deserve it is an incredible opportunity,” Hardwick said in a statement. “I’m sorry, NBC, I’m hoping to give away a lot of your money.”

“I’m excited about this series because it’s different than anything on TV right now. It’s got everything — excitement, drama, and action — and it’s something the entire family can watch and root for together,” added James.

“For SpringHill Entertainment, it’s about creating quality and innovative content for all types of audiences, and I’m proud of the exciting projects we continue to be a part of,” he continued.

Hardwick is the CEO of Nerdist Industries and hosts the Nerdist Podcast, which has more than 5.8 million downloads per month. He also hosts the Comedy Central series @Midnight with Chris Hardwick and The Walking Dead discussion show Talking Dead for AMC.

A premiere date for The Wall has yet to be announced.
