DNI to spread “Belief” globally

The Harpo Studios and part2 pictures copro will air across more than 220 countries and territories worldwide via Discovery networks from December to March.

Discovery Networks International believes in the global potential for OWN’s recent miniseries, Belief.

The Harpo Studios and part2 pictures copro, which aired in seven parts from October 18-24 in the U.S. on the Discovery-owned Oprah Winfrey Network, will roll out via Discovery Network International’s portfolio of factual and lifestyle channels to more than 220 countries and territories, with each territory’s airing slotted to “maximize its impact at relevant times,” according to Discovery.

Asia-Pacific will see the series during December-January, while Northern Europe and Southern Europe will have it air in December. Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa will receive the series in January, and Latin American audiences will be able to view it in March.

The series – a passion project for Winfrey, who also serves as exec producer and narrator – travels around the globe to showcase spiritual practices and rituals in various locales, as well as the beliefs that unite humanity.

“My intention was that the series would speak to people around the world, and I am thrilled the series can now be seen by millions of viewers worldwide,” added Winfrey.

Belief is executive produced by Winfrey, Sheri Salata, Jon Sinclair, David Shadrack Smith, Greg Henry and Kimberly Woodard.
