E! has greenlit a reality series starring the L.A. Clippers’ dance team.

Produced by Mandalay Sports Media, L.A. Clippers Dance Squad (eight x one-hour) will go behind the scenes to look at the professional and personal lives of women hoping to become one of the NBA team’s elite dancers.

The series will follow the audition process and then rehearsals to show viewers what it takes to make it as a member of the Clippers dance team.

Mike Tollin and Jon Weinbach are exec producing for Mandalay Sports Media, and Leola Westbrook serves as an exec producer as well. Cash Warren is producing.

“The women of the Clippers dance team embody the physical and spiritual essence of the modern woman,” said Petra Pope, creative director of entertainment teams for the L.A. Clippers. “These athletes come from various ethnic backgrounds and dance training.  We look to them to be aspirational ambassadors to all those they encounter.”

L.A. Clippers Dance Squad will premiere on the NBCUniversal-owned cable net in 2016.
