Spanish broadcaster Mediaset España has commissioned the primetime fact-ent format Life on Duty (pictured) from Tel Aviv-based distributor Gil Formats.

The 10-part series provides an in-depth look at the personal and professional lives of various emergency services personnel across the police, fire and hospital trauma departments.

The series, which was originally developed by Israel’s Channel 10 for the first quarter of 2016, was recently optioned by Shine France as well as Warner Bros. International Television Production for Australia, Denmark and the Netherlands.

Gil Formats will bring Life on Duty, which is set to premiere across Mediaset España in 2016, to the Asia Television Forum in Singapore this week.

“We’ve enjoyed great interest in Life On Duty from across the globe since the format was launched at MIPCOM last month,” said Gil Formats CEO Assaf Gil in a statement. “It’s fantastic to have Mediaset España – the biggest network in Spain – as the first network to commission the series outside of Israel.”
