Science Channel launches nightly news reports

The Discovery Communications-owned channel has launched Science Presents DNews, offering viewers minute-long science-related news updates each weeknight.

Discovery Communications-owned network Science Channel is offering viewers minute-long science-related news updates each weeknight.

Produced by Discovery Digital Networks, Science Presents DNews focuses on top stories from across the science, technology, space and engineering spaces. The series premiered on December 28 at 9 p.m. EST/PST.

A spin-off of Discovery’s popular digital series DNews, the 60-second segments are hosted by Discovery Digital Networks’ Trace Dominguez and Amy Shira Teitel.

Wyatt Channell serves as executive producer with Jeff Stepp as coordinating producer for Science Channel.

“Science Channel has become the destination on cable for all things science as they happen,” said Science Channel GM Marc Etkind in a statement. “DNews at 9 will keep our viewers current on the latest science and technology headlines in easy to follow one minute updates.”
