Exclusive: Ugly Brother inks deal with C. Russell Muth

The veteran showrunner (pictured, right) will produce original content and run shows for the Mike and Tim Duffy-helmed studio. The company has also promoted Andre Gary (left) to manager of development.

Reality and documentary producer C. Russell Muth (pictured, right) has signed an overall deal with Ugly Brother Studios.

Under the agreement, Muth will produce original content and run shows for Mike and Tim Duffy‘s two-year-old studio. His credits include American Casino (Discovery), Bordertown Laredo (A&E) and Coast Guard Alaska (Weather Channel).

“Russell and I have been in the trenches together. He’s one of the best showrunners around with an endless well of creative ideas,” the Duffy brothers said in a statement. “His specialty in male-skewing doc series makes him a perfect partner for us as we grow our business.”

Additionally, Ugly Brother has promoted Andre Gary (left) to manager of development. The former WME exec joined the company two years ago. In his new role, he will concentrate on growing a development slate of documentary series, reality and factual formats, as well as comedy formats and docusoaps.
