MIPFormats unveils Int’l Pitch Competition finalists

The seventh annual competition, presented by Reed MIDEM and All3Media International, sees five finalists pitch projects for development funding of up to €20,000 (US$22,100).

The seventh annual MIPFormats International Pitch Competition, presented by Reed MIDEM and All3Media International, has revealed the five finalists headed to Cannes.

The contest sees the finalists pitching their projects to a panel of international formats experts for development funding from All3Media International of up to €20,000 (US$22,100).

The international jury includes Stephen Lambert, Studio Lambert chief executive; Tony Tackaberry, Lion Television CEO; Ying Lei, senior adviser for strategy and development at Hunan Broadcasting Systems, Hunan TV; Anette Rømer, head of acquisitions and formats at TV2 Denmark; and Nick Smith, senior VP of international format production at all3media International.

MIPFormats takes place in Cannes just prior to MIPTV, from April 2 to 3.

The finalists and their projects are listed below, with descriptions provided by Reed MIDEM:

Hero or Zero
Presented by Gili Golan, President, Tanin Productions & TV, Israel
A studio game show. Six players stand inside a huge $1,000,000 digits structure, and compete head to head to win it. The player standing inside the “1″ digit will have to defeat each player standing inside the “0.” “The Genius” will be his last obstacle…

Keep Up With the Neighbors
Presented by Samuel Kissous, President, Pernel Media, France
In this location-based game show, people are handed access-all-areas passes to their neighbors’ homes for a chance to win their neighbor’s possessions, but if they fail, it’s the neighbors who will cash in.

The Call

Toss & Turn
