Banijay’s Mike Jackson boards Blue Ant Int’l

Former Banijay International exec Mike Jackson (pictured) has been named as senior director for international sales and acquisitions at Toronto-based distributor Blue Ant International.

In his new role, Jackson will be charged with overseeing efforts across the firm’s copros, pre-sales, sales and acquisitions to the UK, Nordics, Benelux, Southern Europe and the Middle East.

Most recently, Jackson served as head of global sales at Banijay International, where he was responsible for formats sales, as well as scripted and unscripted, into Benelux, Eastern Europe and Asia. Prior to this, he spent nearly four years at DCD Rights where he served as a senior sales executive, sending formats and finished programs to Benelux, Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America. The executive has also held senior titles at MoMedia International, Zodiak Rights and DRG’s Zeal Television.

Jackson’s first market representing the distribution arm of Blue Ant Media will be next week’s MIPTV market.

Blue Ant International currently houses a large slate of unscripted 4K programming and a catalog of more than 2,000 hours of non-scripted content. Titles include The Weapon Hunter (Cream Productions; 6 x 60 minutes), Wild Ride (Nomadic Nation; 16 x 30 minutes) and Live Here, Buy This (JV Productions; 52 x 30 minutes).
