London-headquartered distributor DRG has promoted senior VP Scott Kirkpatrick.

In addition to handling distribution and format sales for North America, Kirkpatrick will add business development for Latin America and format sales for Canada and Latin America to his remit.

He will work alongside Los Angeles-based consultant Cristin Leyser, who manages the development for DRG’s scripted formats in the U.S. The promotion is part of the company’s strategy to grow its presence across South America.

“Over the last few years, the Latin American TV market has grown considerably, and we’re seeing a demand for high-quality, compelling programming, particularly in the entertainment genre,” he said in a statement.

DRG recently sold the unscripted title Baby Animals In The Wild to National Geographic and season nine of Channel 4′s comedy Peep Show to Latin American broadcaster Turner.
