Former Boomerang exec boards Blink Films

The London-based indie has appointed Jon Lloyd (pictured) as creative director for popular factual.

London-based indie Blink Films has appointed former Boomerang executive Jon Lloyd (pictured) as creative director for popular factual.

In his new post, Lloyd will be responsible for overseeing the expansion of the popular factual division to include fact-ent, formats and features programming. He will work alongside the prodco’s executive team of Dan Chambers, Justine Kershaw and Sarah Sapper in London and Brad Kohlenstein in Blink’s recently opened U.S. office.

The U.S. expansion occurred following Tin Roof Media’s strategic investment in January.

Most recently, Lloyd served as executive producer at ITV-owned producer Boomerang overseeing a production slate that included Channel 4′s Posh Pawn and Posh Pawnbrokers. Prior to this, he has held various creative roles at ITV Studios, RDF and Studio Lambert.

Lloyd’s production credits include Channel 4′s Come Dine With Me and Four in a Bed; and BBC3′s Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents.

“Jon has produced some of the UK’s most notable and award-winning popular factual series and formats and we are thrilled that he is joining our expanding creative team to broaden our reach into new genres,” said Blink Films’ Chambers and Kershaw in a joint statement. “We are confident he will help to rapidly build the company’s portfolio of productions, including our increased push into factual entertainment and features for both a UK and global audience.”
