C4′s Julia Harrington lands at Renegade Pictures

Renegade Pictures has appointed Julia Harrington to the newly created role of director of factual and factual drama.

In her new role at the Warner Bros Television Production UK-owned studio, she will work alongside Renegade CEO Alex Cooke, director of programs Harry Lansdown and creative director Alexis Price. She will report into the firm’s editorial director Alan Hayling.

Harrington joins the Don’t Tell the Bride (pictured) producer from British pubcaster Channel 4, where she spent five years serving as a commissioning editor and filmmaker before departing in 2014 to spend more time with family.

Her credits include factual series Richard III: The King in the Car Park, Channel 4 factual drama series The Mill, living history series Benefits Britain 1949, Guy Martin: How Britain Worked, The Queen’s Mother in Law and documentary Dambusters: Building the Bouncing Bomb.

Lansdown said in a statement that the company is looking to ramp up its specialist factual programming and fact-based scripted drama.
