Scripps Networks Interactive-owned Travel Channel has named network consultant Christine Shuler as director of programming.

Shuler has spent the past year working as a consultant for Travel Channel, working across such series as Booze Traveler, Food Paradise and Alaska: Water and Ice.

She will report into Neil Regan, VP of programming, for her new role.

Most recently, Shuler worked as an executive producer for such channels as A+E Networks, Discovery Communications, PBS and Chicago Public Radio, creating content in the historical, pop culture, reality and entertainment spaces.
