GRB Entertainment is bringing a variety of titles spanning lifestyle, wildlife and sports to Discovery Asia-Pacific, Hubu Media (China), and Looking Glass International.
Discovery Asia-Pacific acquired the culinary adventure series Hayden Quinn, featuring celebrity cook and former MasterChef Australia contestant Hayden Quinn (pictured) on a culinary adventure through South Africa, for central and south Asia, New Zealand and the Indian territory.
For the Chinese market, Hubu Media picked up the documentary Great White Highway about Great White Sharks on the central coast of California.
Looking Glass International, meanwhile, will also bring documentaries All Eyes On Brazil, about the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and World Desert Championship, about the grueling off-road racing competition, to China.
Drive secures international sales for Why Are We Here?
London-based coproduction and financing firm Drive has inked a raft of international sales for science series Why Are We Here?
Factual digital service CuriosityStream has acquired the 4 x 60-minute experiential series, while pre-sale deals have been secured with Foxtel Australia, Danish pubcaster DR, and EO in the Netherlands.
Produced by UK indie Tern TV, Why Are We Here? follows Oxford physics professor Ard Louis and science documentarian David Malone as they travel to India, Senegal and the U.S. to meet some of the world’s leading physicists, mathematicians, philosophers, neuroscientists and biologists to explore the meaning of life as well as the nature of the universe.
The series was funded by The Templeton World Charity Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to exploring the fundamental questions of human purpose.

Singapore-based content distribution and production agency Bomanbridge Media has acquired a raft of home lifestyle and travelogue series.
Originally commissioned by Physique TV in the Middle East and North Africa region, On the Go features former Miss Great Britain and British television presenter Amy Kitchingman in her quest to discover healthy vacation spots across the globe.
HGTV Canada’s Bryan Inc. follows home renovation star Bryan Baeumler and his wife Sarah as they embark on their first business venture together, in which they buy, renovate and sell homes.
My Floating Home, meanwhile, follows various families in the midst of building ultimate aquatic dream homes that float on water.
Megalomedia promotes across multiple departments
Texas-based production outfit Megalomedia has elevated Nichole Bardin to VP of talent and development.
In her new role, Bardin will be charged with coordinating the development of formats with the company’s UK division while leading teams in Texas and New York.
Elsewhere, Justin Barclay and Julian Londono have been tapped as co-executive producers and will be provided with oversight over the post-production staffing, episode formats and quality assurance.
