Scripps Networks Interactive has elevated long-time scheduling executive Cindy Brown to senior VP of program planning and scheduling.
Brown (pictured) has served as a member of the SNI team credited with the scheduling strategies that have led to record breaking ratings successes for networks HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country.
In the new role, Brown will oversee the daily scheduling operations across SNI’s portfolio and will additionally focus on developing long-range plans for the networks. Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, she will continue to report to Julie Taylor, senior VP of program planning, strategy and scheduling for SNI’s U.S. networks.
Brown began her tenure at SNI as an administrative assistant for Scripps Productions where her responsibilities grew to include developing and implementing an improved programming and scheduling database for DIY Network. In 1997, she assumed the role of scheduling manager before becoming VP of the group in 2013. In the latter role, she managed series acquisitions, cross-network coproductions and programming budgets, as well as scheduling efforts, for HGTV, Great American Country and DIY Network.
“Cindy’s valuable insights about our audiences, including what drives them and how they watch our networks, has helped us make many a “make or break” scheduling decision over the years,” said Taylor in a statement. “Cindy also was the architect of several innovative processes that continue to serve as the cornerstone of our team’s effective information exchange and workflow.”
