Lionsgate will distribute films outside of North America for California-based Participant Media, including available non-output territories for films that fall under Participant’s deal with Amblin Partners.
Under the deal, Participant — which has previously worked with Lionsgate — will provide up to five narrative films per year, as well as documentary features.
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Patrick Wachsberger (pictured), International COO Andrew Kramer, and London-based EVPS of international sales Wendy Reeds and Crystal Bourbeau will spearhead the Berlin-based effort.
“Participant is a major creative force with a unique and resonant signature, and we’re proud to handle their pipeline of prestigious, commercially exciting and socially relevant films,” said Wachsberger and Kramer in a statement.
Lionsgate’s international theatrical roster includes releases from CBS Films, Alcon Entertainment, Black Label Media and River Road Pictures.
