Armoza Format’s’ Curvy Supermodel heads to Poland

Polish broadcaster Polsat has licensed the German finished tapes of Israeli-based Armoza Formats’ reality competition show, Curvy Supermodel.

The channel is slated to air the series later this year along with a local adaptation that was recently commissioned.

Germany’s RTLII first season of Curvy Supermodel aired at the end of 2016 with the second season slated to air next month. The format has also already been acquired in six territories, including Brazil and Spain.

Produced by Tresor TV, Curvy Supermodel is a nationwide casting show, where an expert jury will mentor a group of contestants looking to make their mark in the modeling industry.


Quintus inks deal with Blue Ant for Evil Knows! – In The Name of Science

International distribution and media agency Quintus Media has secured a deal with Toronto-based Blue Ant Media for the pop science series Evil Knows! – In The Name of Science.

Blue Ant Media’s Canadian channel T+E has picked up exclusive TV rights for the series. produced by German factual specialist Maximus Film.

Evil Knows! – In The Name of Science (6 x 60′) follows “Evil” Jared Hasselhoff — the bass player of the U.S. rock band “Bloodhound Gang” —on a search for momentous quests, myths and phenomena from daily life.

Each episode comprises of six different scientific categories, such as ‘Evil Reveals’ where Hasselhoff explains and answers some of life’s questions with several experiments, which involve helicopters, jet fighters and horses.


eOne teams up with Philly Films and BET Networks for On Tour with Meek Mill

Global indie studio Entertainment One (eOne) has teamed up with Philly Films and BET Networks for a new special featuring rapper Meek Mill during his homecoming show.

On Tour with Meek Mill offers an inside look at one of the most important concerts in the rap star’s career. Mill and his crew pay tribute to his native Philadelphia at the event held at the Wells Fargo Center.

The special weaves in concert and behind-the-scenes footage, with a personal, reflective look back at the last few tumultuous years for the rapper, including a period in jail and a two-year break from the spotlight where didn’t produce an album. Featuring interviews with the rapper, his crew, and the production team, the special also provides an insider’s look at Mill’s and his crew’s interpersonal dynamics.

On Tour with Meek Mill is produced by eOne and Philly Films. Executive producers are Jay Erving, Shawn Gee, with Tara Long and John Morayniss for eOne, alongside Mark Ford and Kevin Lopez for Creature Films.


Discover, Atari team on new game show

Discovery Communications and video game developer Atari have partnered on a new game show.

Themed around global sciences, each episode of Atari: Codebreaker will consist of four rounds where players will compete in a quiz covering all science topics, from astronomy and geography to everyday science.

The winners will compete in the last two rounds, during which they need to find the right combination to open a safe that contains prizes.

The series will be first broadcast in the U.K and Poland, followed by a selection of other European countries on Discovery Science.

The content from the show will be used in short form clips, which will in turn push viewers to a dedicated website for the show, featuring exclusive interviews with the producers, the presenter, the contestants and the Atari CEO.  They will be able to follow their favorite contestants, and also play a simplified version of the game.

Atari: Codebreaker is produced by Atari Media Production with TH Films, Jeff Mirkin, Bruno Lesassier-Boisaune and Robert I. Blagman. Global Media Fusion is in charge of the promotion and information campaign of this new program which will be hosted by Martin Cole.
