Warner Bros.-owned Wall to Wall Productions is opening a new regional production base in Bristol.
The company has appointed executive producer Emily Shields (pictured) to lead Wall to Wall West. Shields, whose credits include the BAFTA-award nominated Back In Time franchise, a variety of history and documentary series such as The Secret History of Our Streets and factual entertainment formats, Supernanny and Faking it.
The new branch will initially focus on factual programming, with a long-term goal of expanding into drama and entertainment. Wall to Wall West has already secured several commissions including The Sweet Makers (3×60) which tells the history of sugar while modern-day confectioners whip up sweets of the past, and the latest of the Back In Time franchise. The prodco has also secured a commission for a new three-part history series to be made from the new base.
Furthermore, BBC1 has ordered two more series of the BAFTA-winning Who Do You Think You Are?. In all, the company’s slate of primetime factual programming to be produced in the Bristol office is upwards of 25 hours.
