Electus International, the global sales arm of Electus, has secured global distribution rights, excluding North America, to Critical Content’s investigative crime special Who Shot Biggie & Tupac?.
Led by actor and rapper Ice-T and award-winning journalist and documentarian Soledad O’Brien, the two-hour one-off will pull the curtain back on the entangled murders of legendary hip-hop adversaries, Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace, otherwise known as the Notorious B.I.G.
The investigative special will re-examine both homicides by unveiling new details and never-before-heard accounts through interviews with former private investigators, police officers, informants and hip-hop insiders, insiders including Doug E. Fresh, Funkmaster Flex, Lil’ Cease, E.D.I. Mean and former Death Row Records executive Suge Knight.
Additionally, the film will produce a never-before-released audio recording of Biggie talking about the shooting of Tupac.
Critical’s Tom Forman, David Metzler, Brad Bishop and Jon Beyer serve as executive producers alongside Ice-T, Soledad O’Brien and Jorge Hinojosa.
Electus International will represent the special at the 2017 MIPCOM market in Cannes this October.
Who Shot Biggie & Tupac? Is scheduled to premiere domestically in the U.S. on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
