London-based sales house Passion Distribution has inked an exclusive first look deal with London and Los Angeles-based factual entertainment prodco Renowned Films.
Under the terms of the deal, Passion picks up the rights to The Peng Life (4 x 30), Channel 4′s review show with YouTuber Elijah Quashieaka. Each episode features the internet star as he visits a new city and reviews everything from food to fashion, at a high and low level price point.
The deal also includes Renowned Films’ upcoming 1 x 90-minute feature doc for Sky Arts which tells the story of the “grime” music genre.
Further titles include Top Dad and Stacey Dooley: Hate and Pride In Orlando. The one-off follows Dooley as she explores the aftermath and impact on LGBT+ communities after the mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando in June 2016.
And the six-part short-form series Top Dad sees award-winning actor and musician Ashley Walters, star of British crime drama Top Boy, delve into the modern=day world of fatherhood and what it means to raise a family during politically turbulent times.
Founded in 2012, Renowned Films attracted investment from Channel 4′s Growth Fund. Most recently, U.S. indie content and television studio Critical Content took a stake in Renowned Films.
