Global creative agency Anchor Worldwide has launched a Los Angeles-based entertainment arm with BBC Worldwide Productions as its exclusive production partner.

With Ethan Goldman at the helm as president of entertainment, Anchor Entertainment will focus on the production of premium scripted and unscripted content.

Goldman will be responsible for developing programming for cable networks and OTT services, with a focus on long-form programming, premium docuseries and scripted dramas.

“As part of our rollout we are collaborating with premium storytellers and world-renowned documentarians to develop timely, issue-driven verité series presented through a filmmaker’s lens,” said Goldman in a statement. “We’re excited to partner with BBCWP exclusively to bring these stories of substance to life.”

Goldman spent the last year consulting for various clients including Big Fish Entertainment and MTV Networks after leaving his post at Warrior Poets, where he served as head of development for four years. There, he developed various projects including Showtime’s The Trade, A&E’s Cultureshock and History’s Superheroes Decoded.

Prior to Warrior Poets, Goldman was SVP at Ish Entertainment, ran the television division of Original Media, and was director of production development at MTV.

Led by Matthew Forde as EVP, BBC Worldwide Productions develops and produces high-quality programming for linear and digital partners, including ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and National Geographic’s Life Below Zero.

“We know Ethan well and have long admired his work,” Forde added. “We wish him well in launching this new division and are looking forward to supporting his endeavor as Anchor Entertainment’s exclusive production partner.”
