AMC Networks International has launched a Southern European business unit that will bring France, Italy, Portugal and Spain together under one banner.
Based in Madrid, the newly named unit, AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will be led by Eduardo Zulueta (pictured), who also serves as president of AMC International Latin America. The unit was formerly known as AMC Networks International Iberia.
The unit will manage SundanceTV France, including its production, programming, marketing and distribution strategies in the domestic market. SundanceTV is available in France through Orange, Canal+, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and FREE.
Additionally, AMC Networks International Southern Europe will look for new business opportunities in the French market and move towards distributing channels and content in Italy.
Manuel Balsera, SVP, AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will lead affiliates, ad sales, marketing and digital, while Pilar de las Casas will oversee programming and acquisitions strategy as VP of cinema and documentary channels.
The remaining unit operations will also be managed by executives of the previous AMC Networks International Iberia team.
