Viacom-owned cable network CMT has elevated Morgan Selzer to the post of SVP of development.
Based in Los Angeles with frequent travel to Nashville, Selzer will lead all development strategy for the U.S. channel. She continues to report to Keith Cox, president of development for Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT.
Selzer replaces former SVP of development Jayson Dinsmore, who departed the network last fall amidst a reshuffling before resurfacing in January at FremantleMedia North America, where he now serves as president of alternative programming and development.
Selzer, who joined the network as VP of development in 2014, has been responsible for launching such unscripted series as Party Down South and I Love Kellie Pickler, as well as the scripted series Nashville. She is currently overseeing production for Music City from producer Adam DiVello, creator of Laguna Beach and The Hills, as well as the revival of the hit series Wife Swap.
Prior to CMT, Selzer was director of development at Style Network and manager of series development at MTV.
“Morgan is a seasoned and savvy development executive who crafts compelling stories across multiple formats and genres,” said Cox in a statement. “During her tenure at CMT, she’s delivered the network’s biggest hits and has a clear, creative vision to elevate the brand to new creative heights.”
