Studio71, a Red Arrow Studios company, has hired seasoned television executive Andrew Strauser as SVP of unscripted content.
In his new role, Strauser (pictured) will be tasked with developing and producing unscripted content for the multichannel network across all platforms and reports into president of unscripted Rabih Gholam.
Most recently, Strauser served as head of unscripted for Jennifer Lopez’s production company, Nuyorican, where he shepherded all creative and development under the company’s first look deal with NBC’s Universal Television Alternative Studio.
Prior to joining Nuyorican, Strauser was VP of talent development and casting for lifestyle network TLC where he oversaw talent development initiatives for the net and its digital platforms. During his tenure at the Discovery, Inc.-owned channel Strauser created culinary smash Cake Boss, which eventually spawned two spin-offs including Next Great Baker and Bakery Boss, while also developing such series as Playhouse Masters, All About Sex, Labor Games and wedding specials for both Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza, and Nick and Vanessa Lachey.
Strauser also managed TLC’s casting for shows including 90 Day Fiancé, Long Lost Family, Say Yes To The Dress, LA Ink, New York Ink and What Not To Wear.
