On tap for this week’s edition of ‘Renewed and Returning’ are new seasons of series on MTV, Bravo Media and Travel Channel.

Viacom-owned youth brand MTV’s competition show The Challenge returns with the premiere of a 10-week special event titled The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars on April 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Hosted by WWE Superstar and former challenge competitor Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, Champs vs. Stars pairs 10 celebrities and athletes along with 10 highly skilled, fan-favorite champions from past Challenge seasons. The mixed teams will go head-to-head in weekly eliminations until one team is left standing and is the ultimate “Challenge MVP”. Winners compete for a chance to take a share of the US$150,000 to donate to their chosen charities.

Elsewhere, Bravo Media returns to sea and mischief with season three of Below Deck Mediterranean (pictured).

Premiering May 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the season cruises through Italy, one of the most picturesque and sought after yachting locations in the Mediterranean. Produced by 51 Minds, Below Deck once again features Captain Sandy Yawn at the helm of the 178 Talisman Maiton, the largest superyacht in Below Deck history.

Meanwhile, Travel Channel has ordered a 52-episode order of Bizarre Food: Delicious Destinations, hosted by James Beard Award-winning chef Andrew Zimmern. In each half-hour episode, Zimmern takes viewers on a culinary journey as he shares the secrets behind popular dishes in popular food hotspots in America and abroad. A premiere date has yet to be set.

British pubcaster BBC1 is bringing back entertainment show All Together Now from Remarkable Television, part of Endemol Shine Group, for a sophomore season run.

The singing competition series features each contestant acting to get as many of the 100 on their feet and singing along because the more of the 100 who join, the higher the acts score. Rob Beckett returns as host, with Geri Horner as head of the 100, a unique panel of one hundred music experts and performers from across the UK.

Additionally, Woodcut Media will produce the third season of true crime series Britain’s Most Evil Killers, and its international counterpart World’s Most Evil Killers (both 10 x 60 minutes) for UK free-to-air channel Pick in 2019.

Britain’s Most Evil Killers and World’s Most Evil Killers delve into the real-life stories of the world’s most terrifying and prolific killers. Each episode focuses on one killer and features first-hand accounts of their behavior from the detectives who worked on the case, journalists who reported on the stories, relatives and, at times, survivors, along with experts who provide analysis.

Finally, French indie Pernel Media has been commissioned by France 5 to produce a second series of the docudrama series The Real War of Thrones; A History of Europe.

The 6 x 60 minutes series will focus on the struggle between Catholic and Protestant faiths, and the intertwined relationships of rival and related European houses during the 1500s. The tensions and rivalries shown in the series include the House of Valois and Catherine de Medici in France, the Habsburgs and the Princes of the Holy Roman Empire in Spain and Germany.
