Filmmaker J.J. Abrams’ Santa Monica-based prodco Bad Robot has inked a deal with documentarian Glen Zipper to develop and coproduce premium docuseries.
The partnership falls under Bad Robot’s current development deal with Warner Bros. Television.
Zipper (pictured) is currently producing a multi-part documentary about famed boxer Muhammad Ali for HBO, directed by Antoine Fuqua and executive produced by LeBron James; an untitled Johnny Cash documentary alongside executive producer Frank Marshall, and the feature-length doc Tread with director Paul Solet and executive producer Doug Liman.
Zipper’s producing credits also include the Academy Award-winning documentary Undefeated, Grammy Award-winning Foo Fighters: Back and Forth, and the Emmy Award-winning George Harrison: Living in the Material World, among many others.
