Ari Mark and Phil Lott’s AMPLE Entertainment has secured an overall deal with veteran Gold Rush producer and director Ed Gorsuch.
The deal will see Gorsuch working closely alongside Mark and Lott to showrun, develop, and produce unscripted programming with a focus on mystery-adventure programming for the American, Canadian and British markets. He will be based out of AMPLE’s Culver City studio.
A seasoned television executive with nearly two decades of experience, Gorsuch most recently spent eight years with London-based prodco RawTV where he oversaw story and production on the first eight seasons of Discovery’s Gold Rush.
Prior to this post, he produced History’s adventure series Ice Road Truckers for Original Productions, and adapted the BBC format The Extreme Truth for DirectTV. Additionally, he created and produced Bionic Builders for Discovery and Wreaking Havoc for SpikeTV – now the Paramount Network.
“Few people have the level of true hands on experience in the male, process-driven space that Ed has,” said Mark in a statement. “His maturity, creative instincts, and management skills make him the perfect fit for AMPLE as we continue to bolster an ambitious slate of doc adventure shows.”
The announcement follows a wave of recent news from AMPLE, who most recently inked an overall production deal with acclaimed British producer John Henshaw; and sophomore season renewals for Discovery’s Cooper’s Treasure and Investigation Discovery’s Murder in the Heartland, as well as 9 Months with Courteney Cox for Facebook.
