On tap for this week’s edition of ‘Renewed and Returning’ are new seasons of series on Bravo, ABC, Discovery Canada and Food Network.
Food Network’s culinary sensation Ridiculous Cakes will return for sophomore season run on July 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
In the new season, viewers will get a behind the scenes look at the cake artists from across the country who work day and night to plan and create confectionery wonders for their clients. Such mind-boggling cakes include a pinball machine cake you can play, a four-foot tall cake celebrating the 30th anniversary of Discovery’s ‘Shark Week’, and a cake honoring comic book hero Superman.
Elsewhere, Bravo Media’s original series that started the hit franchise, The Real Housewives of Orange County, is coming back for a new season.
Produced by Evolution Media, this season of the reality series (pictured) – which begins July 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT – sees Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd joined by new housewives Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter. As the ladies face everyday challenges and hurdles, they will also look to one another for support.
Hit reality series Highway Thru Hell, meanwhile, will return to Discovery Canada’s airwaves for its seventh season.
Produced by Great Pacific Media in association with Discovery Canada, Highway Thru Hell features the men of the Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue company working to keep the Coquihalla Highway in British Columbia functioning. The highway is one of the most heavily used and lucrative routes in North America, and when truckers face trouble on the road, Jamie and his rescue crew respond. Further broadcast details for the upcoming season will be announced this summer.
Wrapping-up this edition of ‘Renewed and Returning’ is ABC’s business-themed competition series Shark Tank, which returns to the broadcaster in the fall of 2018.
Entrepreneurs get the opportunity to bring their dreams to fruition as they present their ideas to the sharks in the tank – a panel of titans of industry. The contestants try to convince any one of the sharks to invest money in their idea. If one or more investor decides they want in on the action, it can spark a bidding war, driving up the price of the investment. Shark Tank is produced by MGM Television in association with Sony Pictures Television.
