London-based television producer Double Act Productions has named Larry Walford as creative director.

Walford (pictured) joins the Alastair Cook- and Robert Davis-founded true indie from Darlow Smithson Productions, where he was head of documentaries. During his tenure, he commissioned over 30 hours of programming, including Catching The Tax Dodgers, How To Start An Airline for Channel 4 and three series of Ill Gotten Gains for BBC1.

Prior to his post at Darlow Smithson, he spent five years at Endemol Shine Group which included heading up factual development at the indie Tiger Aspect. His production credits include Restoration Man with George Clarke, Ross Kemp’s Britain and the RTS award-winning Boats That Built Britain.

Walford replaces executive producer Jonah Weston, who joins pubcaster Channel 4 as comm ed for Specialist Factual.

Double Act is currently in production on season five of Animal Planet’s Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet; an LA-based series for Facebook; a U.S. property series for HGTV; and Angel of the Underworld, a feature doc which is currently shooting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
