On tap for this week’s edition of “Renewed and Returning” are new seasons from WE tv, Discovery Channel, Oxygen and VH1.
Comedian Ben Bailey and his taxi return to the streets of New York City to give unsuspecting passengers the chance at winning cash when Cash Cab returns July 27 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel.
The new season launches with a celebration for the 30th anniversary of Discovery’s ‘Shark Week’ and puts the player’s knowledge to the test on all things shark related. Cash Cab is produced for Discovery Channel by Lion USA and Norton Productions.
Elsewhere, VH1′s Emmy-nominated series Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party (pictured) returns with back-to-back episodes for the second half of its season two run on Aug. 1 at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Produced by Sequential Brands Group, Merry Jane and 495 Productions, the pair will continue to light up the kitchen by putting a personal spin on favorite dishes and creating themed meals with celebrity friends, including RuPaul, Faith Evans, Michelle Rodriguez, Cedric The Entertainer, Terrence Howard, Queen Latifah, Anthony Anderson, Christina Milian, Margaret Cho and G-Eazy.
The third season of David Tutera’s CELEBrations from Pilgrim Media Group, meanwhile, will return to AMC Networks-owned lifestyle and entertainment network WE tv.
The new season will follow party planner Dave Tutera and his famous client’s over-the-top demands as he and his team work hard to exceed expectations by planning the most glam events that even his own clients couldn’t have imagined. Tutera’s new clients include such famous faces as Mario Lopez, Vivica Fox, Ice-T and Coco and Niecy Nash. David Tutera’s CELEBrations premieres Aug. 3rd at 10 p.m. ET/PT on WE tv.
Finally, NBCUniversal-owned female-focused crime net Oxygen Media is kicking off a brand new season of its true crime investigative series Cold Justice on Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. ET/PT.
From producers Wolf Reality and Magical Elves, the series follows veteran prosecutor Kelly Siegler and her rotating team of veteran detectives as they examine small-town murder cases that have gone unsolved for years. In the season five premiere, Siegler and detective Steve Spingola head to Oneida County, Wisconsin to investigate an unsolved homicide of Barbara Mendez. Their search uncovers a town’s dark side, crimes against children and lies within a church.
