Global media co Viacom has appointed Megan Ring to the newly created position of EVP of production at Viacom Media Networks, effective immediately.

In her new role, Ring will lead domestic production for scripted, unscripted, short-form and live events for Viacom’s brand of portfolio networks, including Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, CMT, TV Land, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network and BET; the studio production units created by Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon; and for Viacom Digital Studios.

Ring will report to Viacom Media Networks’ chief operating officer Sarah Levy.

Most recently, Ring served as SVP of production for Comedy Central, Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT.

Prior to entering the Viacom fold in 2003 via Comedy Central, Ring was a freelance producer/line producer with a focus on indie dramas and children’s entertainment. She launched her career at Fast Forward Productions, a post-production facility, before moving into a staff position at indie Tapestry Films.
