Former LEGO executive Lars Silberbauer has been appointed to the newly established role of SVP for Viacom’s MTV Digital Studios.

Silberbauer will shepherd the creative, development and production for the network’s digital originals, and lead MTV’s digital brand social channels, with responsibility for accelerating the youth brand’s growth across platforms.

The executive will relocate from London to New York as Silberbauer starts his new position on Nov. 1. He reports into Jacqueline Parkes, CMO and EVP of Digital Studios for MTV, VH1 and Logo Group, and Kelly Day, president of Viacom Digital Studios.

During his time tenure at LEGO as senior global director of social media & video, Silberbauer created the toy company’s global strategy from the ground up, expanding across social media, search and third-party video channels on global platforms. Additionally, he is credited with launching high-quality animated channel LEGO TV in 2014 across 24 markets.

Prior to LEGO, Silberbauer worked as a strategist connecting traditional broadcasting with digital experiences over a 10-year period. Earlier this year, he was crowned one of the 25 most innovative and influential marketers in Europe by the Holmes Report.
