NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s unscripted arm Wilshire Studios has named award-winning producer and executive Lisa Levenson as EVP of development and programming.
In the new role, Levenson will oversee development and programming for the unit and reports to Dawn Olmstead. Last week, Olmstead was promoted to the position of sole president for Universal Cable Productions (UCP) and Wilshire Studios.
Levenson joins Wilshire Studios from U.S. broadcaster Fox, where she most recently served as SVP of alternative programming. During her four-year tenure there, her department oversaw multiple landmark factual series and specials, including Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef and Beat Shazam.
Previously, Levenson served as an executive producer on the successful dating franchise The Bachelor and The Bachelorette over 13 seasons before going on to work at Cineflix Productions, holding the post of EVP of programming and development.
Current Wilshire Studios unscripted projects include The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell on Netflix; Oxygen’s reboot of Mysteries and Scandals hosted by Soledad O’Brien; and E!’s Unspeakable Crime: The Killing of Jessica Chambers.
