Endemol Shine North America-backed 51 Minds Entertainment has partnered with Major TV, exercise physiologist Marco Borges and seminal hip-hop artist Jay Z on a documentary that will explore the impact of a plant-based diet.
Titled The Greenprint, the film will be anchored by clinical experts and famous faces in entertainment, music and sports to showcase how a plant-based diet impacts not only the individual, but ultimately, the world. The film will also look to tackle the real-life obstacles of underserved communities and “uncover solutions that anyone can adopt”.
“The need for this message is vital for the world and the TV and film landscape,” said 51 Minds Entertainment president Christian Sarabia in a statement. “As with anything that Marco Borges and our EP partners touch, this documentary will elevate the narrative, expose the truth, spark a movement and, more than anything, break the mold with its creative sensibility and production value.”
Borges (pictured) is an exercise physiologist, New York Times/International bestselling author, and CEO and founder of 22 Days Nutrition, co-owned with Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
Borges’ Greenprint movement, which looks to elevate awareness and action around the benefits of plant-based foods, includes four initiatives: the digital tool which shows users how plant-based meals impact the planet; the upcoming book, The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet: Best Body, Better World; The Greenprint documentary; and a clinical trial.
The Greenprint documentary is slated for a Fall 2019 release.
