Participant Media-owned content studio SoulPancake has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointment of Mick DiMaria as VP, creative director.
DiMaria (pictured) joins SoulPancake – founded by Rainn Wilson of The Office fame – after consulting with such entertainment and advertising companies as 20th Century Fox, Battery and Jam City. Prior to that, DiMaria served as creative director at full-service ad agency 72andSunny.
He will report to Golriz Lucina, SoulPancake’s SVP and head of creative.
Elsewhere, the Beverly Hills-based company has also hired Jordan Allen as SVP of revenue, strategy and operations. Allen will report to SoulPancake’s CEO Shabnam Mogharabi.
“Jordan and Mick will play an integral role in building off last year’s momentum as we head into 2019,” Mogharabi said in a statement. “Their expertise will help us continue our role as a leader in the creative content space and help us grow our meaningful brand.”
The pair board the SoulPancake team as it kicks off its 10th year and begins 2019 in a new space after relocating its Los Angeles headquarters into Participant Media’s Beverly Hills office to accommodate growth and content integration. Participant acquired SoulPancake in 2016.
SoulPancake’s recent production output includes the debut of original series Board of Dating with digital leader Tastemade and I Survived, as well as branded integrations including the La La Anthony-hosted Funded In America and Food Interrupted.
“Moving into the Participant Media offices will open the door for us to offer a broader suite of first-class content and creative products,” added Mogharabi. “We are fortunate to have a parent company that is mission-driven, like-minded, and celebrates the same values as we do.”
