Los Angeles-based indie prodco and sales agency XYZ Films has appointed director of international distribution Tamir Ardon to the newly created role of head of documentaries.

Ardon (pictured) will oversee original documentary production and work with the North American sales team to expand their doc sales slate.

His most recent project at XYZ was producing Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce’s forthcoming doc Framing John DeLorean, about the iconic automaker, to be released by IFC later this year.

Before joining the XYZ distribution team, Ardon was director of development at Zodiak USA and MME filmpool USA, an All3 Media company, where he produced and distributed unscripted TV.

“We’ve always been drawn to non-fiction storytelling and supported doc filmmakers in achieving distribution,” said an XYZ statement. “Bringing on Tamir enables us to work with our directors from an early stage and help get their movies made.”
