Twofour heads to MIPTV with new sales appointment
British TV and digital media group Twofour has appointed Kaia Roemer as a sales executive, ahead of the 2019 MIPTV market in Cannes next week.
Roemer (pictured) will manage sales within German-speaking Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey and Greece. She will be responsible for distributing Twofour’s formats and finished tapes to broadcasters at MIP.
She previously managed sales in the same territories for Sliverlining TV Ltd. and has worked in film and television distribution for companies including Fremantle, ZDF and Visit Films.
NENT Group appoints Cecilia Gave as head of Viafree
Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has appointed Cecilia Gave as SVP and group head of their pan-Nordic AVOD service Viafree.
Gave is responsible for the overall strategic, commercial and business development of Viafree in her new role. She joins NENT Group’s executive management team and reports to president and CEO Anders Jensen.
Gave joined NENT Group in 2016 as COO of NENT Sports Sweden.
She previously held positions at Boxer TV and Titan Television.
The Secret Song acquired in Finland and The Netherlands
Finnish commercial network MTV Oy is the first international broadcaster to acquire the rights to the French music format The Secret Song from Vivendi Entertainment.
The original version — titled La Chanson Secrète — aired on TF1 and became the number one show in France for 2018. It was created and produced by DMLS TV. The series sees celebrities seated onstage, watching other artists, friends or family surprise them by performing a new take of one of their favorite songs.
The Finnish version will include up to eight episodes, produced to air in primetime.
Vivendi Entertainment has also linked up with Warner Bros in the Netherlands to become the exclusive owner of the IP in the Dutch market.
Mediawan extends partnership with Alchimie
French content aggregation and distribution company Alchimie has signed an agreement with French media and entertainment conglomerate Mediawan, extending its current partnership to include a “replay/catch up” service for nine themed Mediawan linear channels to subscribers on Alchimie’s Watch It! OTT platform.
Watch It! provides OTT access to Mediawan’s linear channels via subscription to various access providers, including BT, Apple store and Google Play.
The new service will allow subscribers to catch up on content from AB3, ABXPLORE, RTL9, Action and Crime District free from linear viewing schedules.
