French documentary producer Gedeon Programmes has hired veteran network exec Delia Baldeschi as head of development and editorial content.

In the role, Baldeschi (pictured) will be responsible for initiating new documentary projects and formats for all channels and platforms. She will work directly with Gedeon Programmes president Stéphane Millière, and alongside the company’s production team.

Baldeschi has spent the majority of her career on the network side with the Canal+ Group, first as a marketing manager in the research department before being elevated in 2009 to editorial manager of documentary channel Planete+.

She was elevated again in 2014 to become director of programs for the channels, including Planete+, Planete+ Adventures Experiences and Planete+ Crime Investigation. As such, she originated and oversaw more than 100 hours of original documentary productions per year.
