True crime net Investigation Discovery has greenlit a new series with The View co-host and former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin.
The 6 x 60-minute The Whole Truth with Sunny Hostin follows the presenter as she travels across America to explore the stories behind a number of controversial homicides.
The senior legal correspondent for ABC News and victims’ rights advocate will guide audiences through how each case was solved, resulting in justice for the victim’s family. Each episode features forensic experts, law enforcement officials, prosecutors and defense attorneys for the cases and meetings with the family of each victim.
“Becoming a part of the Investigation Discovery family has been a dream come true for me,” said Hostin in a statement. “I have spent my career trying to tell the stories of the voiceless and the forgotten and being able to use what I have learned during my career as a federal prosecutor and my passion for journalism and storytelling to shed light on these complex, multi-dimensional and powerful cases is an opportunity of a lifetime.”
The series is executive produced by Hostin, Hilary Estey McLoughlin and Terence Noonan for Lincoln Square Productions and Mike Sheridan and Joe Venafro for First Watch Productions.
For Investigation Discovery, Liz Massie is executive producer.
The Whole Truth With Sunny Hostin bows on Investigation Discovery in Q4 2019.
