Los Angeles-based prodco World of Wonder has bolstered its senior leadership ranks with four key appointments.

Joining the award-winning, multi-platform production studio are former Discovery executive Matthew Vafiadis (pictured, left) as SVP of development; ex-OWN veteran Maitee Cueva (right) as SVP of current series and programming; and Ryan Slattery, formerly of digital talent network and entertainment studio Collab, as SVP of digital content. Additionally, Matt Habib joins as head of brand partnerships from Rolling Stone.

In his new role as SVP of development, Vafiadis will be responsible for overseeing projects in all stages of development, and reports to chief creative officer Tom Campbell, who will continue to oversee the development department. Vafiadis joins the RuPaul’s Drag Race producer after three years as VP of production at Discovery where he managed such series as Gold Rush .

Cueva, meanwhile, will shepherd all current programming at WOW. She formerly served as SVP of programming and development at the Discovery-owned OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, which she helped launch in 2010. There, she helped build the network’s popular Saturday night programming block.

Slattery, as SVP of digital content, will be responsible for leading WOW Presents and the WOW Presents Plus SVOD service, in addition to developing short- and long-form content for WOW-branded channels, external platforms and networks. He most recently served as SVP of production and development at Collab.

The new hires join World of Wonder following a banner year that has seen the company expand in the direct-to-consumer space, including worldwide growth of its SVOD WOW Presents Plus platform, while also garnering 12 Emmy-Award nominations and five wins, four of which went to RuPaul’s Drag Race.

“We have experienced steady year-on-year growth for the past 15 years, largely thanks to the amazingly talented executives we’ve already had on staff. We’re thrilled to add to our WOW family,” said World of Wonder co-founders in a joint statement. “We look forward to taking on the creative challenges of a continually changing industry landscape with these experienced and dynamic additions to our team.”
