British pubcaster BBC1 has commissioned the Scottish division of factual indie Tuesday’s Child to produce the quiz show Head Hunters.
Hosted by comedian Rob Beckett (pictured), the format will see three “Head Hunters” emerge from a “talent pool” of 20 quizzers, following a round of quick qualifying questions.
Each episode will culminate with the top contestant correctly answering a question from nine varying categories – from fashion and chemistry to romantic comedies – in 90 seconds to win the rolling jackpot.
The categories will be different each day, and a Head Hunter can determine whether they want to go it alone and win solo or if they’d be better off with help from other contestants. If the latter option is chosen, the main contestant must select those that will help them answer all of the questions correctly, recruiting candidates from the talent pool by bidding for their services with cash offers they can’t refuse.
The talent pool will consist of a rolling cast with contestants returning for several episodes at a time, allowing them to create or break allegiances with various Head Hunters.
Head Hunters will run every weekday afternoon for six weeks on the UK pubcaster’s flagship channel.
The quiz format is executive produced by Karen Smith for Tuesday’s Child Scotland. It was commissioned by Jo Street and Dan McGolpin for BBC1 Daytime.
