Days after marking her exit from Lionsgate, veteran executive Jennifer O’Connell has resurfaced at AT&T-owned entertainment conglomerate WarnerMedia, Realscreen has confirmed.

O’Connell (pictured) joins WarnerMedia’s forthcoming direct-to-consumer streaming platform as EVP of original non-fiction and kids. In the role, she will lead development of the company’s originals slate that ranges from docuseries to children’s-focused projects while leveraging WarnerMedia’s portfolio of “nostalgic” brands.

She reports into Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at WarnerMedia’s SVOD division. The as-yet named streaming venture is overseen by chief creative officer, Kevin Reilly.

O’Connell departed the Santa Monica-headquartered entertainment firm earlier this week. There, she served as EVP and head of worldwide alternative programming, overseeing the development and production of Lionsgate’s unscripted slate across all platforms. In addition, the executive also spearheaded the global expansion of the company’s unscripted business.

Her previous alternative programming credits at Lionsgate included YouTube’s Kevin Hart: What the Fit, CMT’s Music City, E!’s Model Squad and Facebook Watch’s You Kiddin’ Me.

O’Connell joined Lionsgate in September 2015 from Core Media Group, where she was head of U.S. television. During her three-year tenure, she led the launch of Core’s original TV arm and oversaw development and production of all programs in the U.S., including Pop’s Sing It On and Bravo’s Euros of Hollywood.

Prior to this, she held a variety of senior posts at NBCUniversal, Shed Media U.S., Disney Channel and the Family Channel.
