Creative executive, producer and programmer Mike Suggett has been named head of programming and development for automotive media company MotorTrend Group, a joint venture between Discovery and GoldenTree Asset Management.
In his new role, Suggett (pictured) will shepherd the global strategy for MotorTrend Group’s automotive-themed video platforms. Additionally, he will be tasked with developing the programming and scheduling initiatives for the MotorTrend app, the company’s SVOD, and linear net MotorTrend TV.
Suggett most recently served as VP of original programming at the company where he led the content strategy for all MotorTrend digital video platforms.
At MotorTrend, Suggett played a critical role in the production and development of such series as Roadkill, Hot Rod Garage and the upcoming Top Gear America (working title).
Prior to joining MotorTrend Group, Suggett held posts at E! Entertainment Television and at Eye Candy Post.

Produced by Magilla Entertainment, the series features a different crew each week from across the U.S. who heads to Central Florida to take on a crew of top racers in the area known as the Dirty 7. The contestants battle it out in The Pit, a track designed to eat up mega trucks, where only the toughest will finish the cross line in one piece. The racers compete against one another to win a cash prize and earn bragging rights as the best crew out there.
Matthew Ostrom, Laura Palumbo Johnson, Jason Fox, Kevin Allgood and Pete DeLasho serve as executive producers along with Josh Abrahamson as co-executive producer. For Discovery Channel, Sydney Clover is executive producer, and Olivia Ghersen serves as coordinating producer.
